Favorite Things for Fall: Products
Four Sigmatic Coffee
This fun-loving company (check their site for cute shiit(ake) jokes throughout), is committed to bringing delicious instant coffee—by way of mushrooms—into your life. Their name is derived from a small list of the highest quality super-foods found anywhere. “Only 50 super-foods in the world qualify as “four sigmatic.” The best of the best. Those are the foods we use in our products for you!” Mushrooms are on that list. They provide incredible antioxidants and anti-cancer benefits. Here’s what the company says when asked if their coffee tastes like mushrooms…
“We know, not everyone is as obsessed with the taste of mushrooms as we are. Luckily for you, our products don’t taste like any mushroom you’ve bought at the grocery store. Mushroom Coffee tastes like coffee. The Hot Cacao tastes like a dark hot chocolate. Mushroom Matcha tastes like matcha. Mushroom Chai Latte tastes like, you guessed it, chai latte. Our Mushroom Elixirs are unlike anything you’ve ever tasted. They all taste different, but the taste is more or less herbal and earthy with a slight bitterness.”
Highlights:
- Replace your regular old cup of coffee
- Made with 100% organic Arabica coffee beans
- Includes immune function supporting chaga mushrooms
- Tastes just like coffee, not like mushrooms
- Ready to drink with hot water
- Enhance with your choice of nut milk and/or natural sweetener
- Blend in coconut oil or ghee for a creamier texture
Our Favorite Flavor
We are kinda obsessed with the Coffee Latte flavor. It’s mildly sweet and a little creamy, and it just screams “Drink me when it’s chilly outside.” Add a little pumpkin spice to it for an even bigger fall treat. Give it a try with our homemade pumpkin spice creamer, or use it for your 131 Fat Coffee.
Pamela’s Not Xanthan Not Guar Gum
This baking agent is a great find for people with gut issues looking to avoid “gums.” Certain gums act as binding or thickening agents in things baked goods and canned coconut milk. Some people find them inflammatory. So as you go through the 131 Method, discovering which foods are inflammatory for YOU, you might discover that gums aren’t your friend. Pamela’s Not Xanthan Not Guar Gum offers the benefits of both, but without the potentially inflammatory ingredients. Use just as you would xanthan gum in recipes. Here’s what they have to say about the product…
“Pamela’s Not Xanthan/Not Guar Baking Binder is a stabilizer, thickener and binder for gluten-free baking, helping to create a light and fluffy texture in baked goods. This is a recipe that Pamela has used since she started her business. It is great for people who are sensitive to xanthan gum or guar gum, or are looking for an alternative in their baking.”
Try a teaspoon in your next homemade bread recipe and see what you think! Fall is the time for yummy baked treats, which is why we love this product this time of year.
Favorite Things for Fall: Recipes
Our two favorite things for fall recipes come from our friend Liz over at Super Sister Fitness. Head over to her blog for both recipes that scream fall flavored-goodness. We love Liz and what she’s doing so much, we dedicated an entire 131 blog to her healthy and easy recipes. Check that out here. (Hint- the theme is the Best Low Calorie Recipes). Wanna eat an entire pizza yourself for under 200 calories? Then head on over ASAP!
Cinnamon Apple Spice Cake

Baked Pumpkin Spice Donuts
We’ve got some high fat low carb donuts of our own going on…but none like Liz’s baked version. Depending on the flour you use for donuts, the textures vary greatly. This version is dense, like real cake donuts. The only difference is, these are baked, and much healthier than store-bought. Feel free to use the sweetener you like best, from Lakanto Golden, to coconut sugar, if you like.
Recipe Highlights:
- Dense, filling and perfectly sweet without being too sweet
- Packed with antioxidant-rich pumpkin
- Full of fiber
- Easy to make and bakes in about 12 minutes
- Great for 131 Carb Cahrge days

Favorite Things for Fall: Gadgets
MiTBA Copper Grill Mats
We love these grill mats for barbecuing for myriad reasons. First- they keep your grill looking shiny and new. Second- your food won’t fall between the cracks. Third- you won’t be exposed to the potentially cancer-causing burnt bits on meat when it’s charred. These carcinogens are produced when meats are blackened from high heat on a grill, or even on the oven or stove top. Lastly-they’re better for the environment and waste. Free yourself from aluminum foil and use these reusable mats instead.
The company says, “From now on, you get all the benefits of the barbecue without the hassle: they prevent the meat from falling through the grates, they stop the grease from causing flare-ups, they are non-stick and they distribute the heat evenly. All of these while leaving grill marks, preserving your sauces and spices and making sure that your grill will look brand new forever!”
Euro Cuisine YM80 Yogurt Maker
For the price, you simply cannot beat this yogurt maker. If you’ve gone through the 131 Method, you know we’re obsessed with gut healing. Fermented foods, and foods rich in probiotics, help heal your gut. However, most yogurts are made with dairy, something many people don’t tolerate well. Non dairy yogurts often contain too much sugar, or various gums or carrageenan. The really good coconut yogurts, like Cocoyo, get a bit pricey and aren’t always easy to find if you don’t live near a Whole Foods.
Here’s what the company says, “Enjoy your favorite flavor, made fresh at home with little fuss and preparation. The entire process takes between 6 to 10 hours. The yogurt maker includes seven 6-ounce glass jars with lids so you can make a different flavor in each! Timer on the side marks time when yogurt will be finished cooking. The unit has on/off switch and light indicating unit is working.”
You can totally make yogurt in your Instant Pot using the yogurt setting, if you like. But this little device is tiny and works great.
