From Beta Tester to Ambassador
Emily O, like so many women, sent us photographs of her “before 131 Method” life, and said, “I felt horrible in these pictures; I hated how I looked and felt.” Her after photos tell a much different story, evidenced by her huge smiles and expanding confidence. Since losing a total of 22 pounds, Emily says she finally feels comfortable in her own skin and is thrilled to be off the “dieting rollercoaster.” Emily says that anyone considering the program needs to enter it like an online nutrition course, not a diet. “You can’t help but become intrigued, and then it’s easy to incorporate the lessons into your life.”
In addition to weight loss, Emily’s IBS symptoms disappeared. One of the most profound and lasting effects of the 131 is the adoption of new habits. In some cases, people’s habits have been concrete, consistent and detrimental for decades. Adopting small habits leads to greater ones, and for Emily, she only needed a few to seriously transform her life. “I have so many new habits. I do not fear fats. I’ve learned I need to invest in quality foods and that our food sources are not what they used to be. I’ve learned the true feeling of hunger, listening to my body and not eating because someone says it’s time to eat. I learned sugar (in my opinion) is a very dangerous drug.”
Mindset for the Win
Beyond the nutrition piece is the included with the 131 Method. Most participants have a favorite lesson that resonated enough to help them in dark times, or when things felt hard. The Four- S’s Lesson: Self, Sanity, Science and Success felt like a gentle hand holding Emily’s when she needed it most. Thanks to the 131, Emily has maintained her weight loss for over two years, influenced family members to get healthier and ditched the “protein bar means healthy” mentality. “My top achievement is how much I know about my body. I easily identify foods that make me feel terrible and which foods let me know what healthy feels like. I was clueless to everything; health is so much more than calorie counting.”
