In this video, Bret Johnson mixes up a skinny cocktail recipe. Though we don’t recommend regular consumption of alcohol, we value having a social life and relationships. So, if an event comes up or you want to enjoy a drink, here’s a healthier option that’s not loaded with sugar. Aside from our fave wines, Bret’s creations top our YUM list.
Skinny cocktails often mean lightened or low-sugar mixers. Most alcohols clock in at roughly 65 calories per shot, give or take a few. Often, it’s the mixers that create the havoc. Syrups, sweetened coconut cream, daiquiri mixes and sodas tip scales at hundreds of calories per drink. So how do you make one you still enjoy? Look no further than Bret’s skinny cocktail!
Why we Watch the Alcohol
Perhaps one of the most commonly asked questions inside the 131 Method are: Can I drink? I need my wine. I’m attending a wedding and want to drink. Which alcohol is best?” We are pretty sure the majority of people asking don’t have serious addictions. The ladies asking generally just like one to two glasses of wine, or a skinny margarita. The men, an occasional beer or gin and tonic. However, once you enter the 131 Method and discover how food, drinks, sleep, supplements (and subsequently, hormones) affect your gut health and waistline, alcohol loses a bit of its appeal. Or rather, the wrong kinds of alcoholic beverages. Alcohol affects sleep and weight gain significantly. Read more on that here.
It’s more important than ever to drink wisely once you start repairing your health from the inside out. We hope you enjoy this skinny cocktail recipe, and all the healthy recipes inside the online community of the 131 Method. We have hundreds inside the program!

Your sharp, to the point & realistic about LIFE 👍
Awesome! I actually already make this one using Tito’s Vodka! I dress it up with 2 olives and herbs. I have also used the lime and sparkling water. If I go to a social outing, it is my drink of choice! Thank you Brett!
