All Diet-No Exercise (Yet)

This remarkable 30-pound weight loss was the result of hard work, and the 131 Method. Meet Alisa W. She didn’t start out with any health issues she was trying to overcome, but knew she’d feel better if she lost a few pounds. Her result is an overall “lightness” and a huge sense of accomplishment for starting and committing to 12-weeks of diet phasing with the online program. “I was proud that I stuck it out and learned a lot of information I could share with my friends and family. I was super excited to lose so much weight. And for once, it felt pretty effortless!” Her results came from just changing her eating habits. She didn’t add exercise but is eager to see even more improvements the next round when she does add daily movement.

Sustainable Changes

“The programs I have done in the past were all about strict rules that felt unsustainable long-term. They also emphasized exercise, and when I didn’t maintain the rigorous workout schedule and diet ‘rules,’ I gained all the weight back. It felt like work instead of an education and lifestyle change.” While the 131 Method is all about moving for health, we also believe in changing things slowly so that they are sustainable. Most people won’t stick with a brand new way of eating, sleeping, moving, meditating and supplementing. However, they will stick with smaller incremental changes. This is because nothing feels drastic, and it’s not all or nothing, or perfection/imperfection. We believe the small changes begin affecting daily life positively, so traction is gained, and then it’s easier to want to add additional changes. New tweaks feel like a blessing rather than a curse.

Most Helpful Parts to the 30-Pound Weight Loss

When asked what were her top take-aways, Alisa says, “paying attention to added sugar and listening to my body. It’s not fun to cheat if it doesn’t even make you feel good after. I try to steer clear of a dieters’ mentality and take everything one day, and one decision at a time, instead of all or nothing.” As someone who loves learning about nutrition and human health, Alisa clicked immediately with the 131 and the way the information is dripped out week by week. It’s not a book that can get overwhelming. Nor is it all unbreakable rules.

It’s a course, if you will, that allows people to take ownership of their health based on information they never know they always needed. And once you learn it, it’s impossible to un-learn it. Every decision you make from that point on moves you closer or further away from your goals. If you choose to move further away, but it’s worth it to you, even that’s valuable and can lead to feeling better. Ultimately, you gain control of bad, decent and great choices.

Her Advice

To people thinking about signing up, Alisa says it’s all about bettering yourself. Who doesn’t want to be better?! “The format and education are conducive for results if you are truly ready for change.” For her, it was all about one day at a time. If ever there was a struggle, the lessons were right there to replay, which always helped her when making decisions. The passion and research upon which this method is built is undeniable. It’s like having an expert in your pocket at all times, because literally, the course and information are directly on your phone, accessible any time you need it. Play it in the car, while making dinner, at the gym, or set aside actual learning time. In the end, change is possible if you take the leap, make small changes daily, and listen to the information provided. There’s a whole new world waiting for you!
