Debi B’s incredible story begins with gut health issues stemming from a full hysterectomy due to severe endometriosis at the young age of 23. Suffering from intense stomach pains after her surgery, she sought out several diets, all of which failed to heal her. Debi said, “I thought I was eating as ‘clean’ as possible, but nothing worked.” She began her journey with the 131 Method during the beta-test and experienced positive results almost immediately. Not only did Debi lose 23 pounds in less than 8 weeks, but her gut improved almost immediately. Debi loves the freedom the diet gave her, saying that the customization to her own goals and challenges is what finally clicked. For her, it was so much more than just about food, it was about ridding herself of pain, and escaping some of the hereditary health challenges that run in her family.
Learning about probiotics in some of the 131 Method CLUB lessons taught her that she needed to be more discerning when choosing brands, and that for a long time, she was likely not benefitting at all from what she was taking; she was simply throwing money down the drain every month. After years of doctors and friends telling her that she, “must take probiotics every day,” she’s now taken control back in that area of her life because she knows what works best for her.
She’s maintained her weight loss since ending her first round nearly 2 months ago. Her favorite new habit after completing the program is intermittent fasting because it works for her and her busy lifestyle as a personal trainer. “I feel best when I am not logging my food the way I was before 131 Method. I read food labels much more carefully, but I don’t feel like I’m a slave to logging every bite, which is so freeing.”
In terms of life after 131 Method, Debi says, “I have completely changed the way I look at food. I am much more aware of what I put into my body. I don’t eat just to eat anymore; I eat to fuel my body. I have much more energy in the afternoon as well. I have completely gotten over my constant sweet tooth cravings. In fact, things that I used to eat like honey, cookies, or creamer in my coffee are too sweet for me now, so it’s easy to say no to them.”
Debi’s hope is to become a 131 Method affiliate and coach so that she can put all her personal training clients through the program. She wants them to experience her newfound sense of power over her choices and mental state. “I don’t feel like I ever fail on this program, even if I cheat a little, because I customize my plan and what works for me and my body.”
